Smart mobile workstations have been a quiet revolution in healthcare. Alphatron’s AMiS became the market leader and a household name in the sector thanks to its modular architecture, which includes its own medication distribution system and software integration. Due to relatively high production costs and long supply lines, there was a strong need for a successor that was equivalent, with a number of optimisations, more respect for the planet and greater geopolitical independence. With the knowledge it had built up and while retaining its unique recognisable character, Promea redesigned the system entirely for local production, with better specifications, almost half the number of parts, fully recyclable parts and therefore a much lower footprint. This is precisely the power of good design.
