The province of Zeeland and Ecotap and Promea got together to realize a number of places to help and inspire visitors to discover and enjoy the province by bicycle. The assignment was to create an inviting landmark offering shelter, digital information and relaxation. The locations should be chosen carefully so that visitors could swop from car to bicycle and plan their journey from an interesting site. At the same time the place could promote social interaction and contact amongst people. With a large surface area of solar panels, a storage battery, an interactive touch screen display connected to G4 and led lights the object is designed to be fully autonomous. Materials, colour schemes and detailing evoke an ambiance of marinas and sailing yachts.
